To set the tone for this review this game is the reason i put any effort for making accounts to even post a review for a adult game. i never cared about doing this for any other game. heck i never read the lines word for word on any adult games before. i got sucked into this games world and now im hooked. Let me explain why.
First of all i like games where the mc either starts of strong or slowly becomes OP. Where the Mc could go evil or could go good depending on the situation happening to them. i like stuff involving super powers...where if someone hurts the mc's friend hell take care of who did it because he is strong enough to do so. There is still animation in this version ( fight scenes).if any of that is in your interest wheel house please keep reading.
As you progress through the storyline you will feel emotions...up and downs..things i never thought a mere Renpy game would make me feel. the music Berk put into this game during certain scenes is spot on. it helps you feel exactly what he is trying to convey. heck im listening to one of the songs right now as i type this review. I actually binged all of the first 10 chapters in 1 night ( before 11 came out) and didnt even go to sleep just went straight to work after. i had to know what was going to happen.
If you read Berks post on patreon you can tell he really enjoys this and is always mentioning new things he wants to try...like during a battle scene having 15( not ea( not exactly just a # i picked) different things going on in 1 frame and as each frame progresses each of those 15 things are doing something else instead of the usual 1 thing happening each frame. He will tell you exactly whats going on in his life and doesnt leave you guessing if the game wil continue or when the next chapter might be. He will always respond to you when he is able.
This game is so good it doesnt even need the scenes that were taken out for the new itch friendly version. if you like anime its like experiencing your favorite one for the first time all over again.
This is the only game i cant have not be finished. This is the only game ill write a review on every site just to help make sure it stays around. If what i said in my 2nd paragraph speaks to you then give this a chance...and if you havent played a game with those qualities at the for front of what you usually play..then make this thge first one you experience. you can tell her works hard on each chapter and the comments he gets on patreon shows the loyality he brings out of his subscribers. he had the for sight to start making this game itch friendly before it went to hell these last couple days because he cares about his creation. not too many creators have thought that far ahead yet. I think that basically covers the main idea i want to get across but il ledit this if i think of any other mentions i forgot.
The O.G. version is on my Mount Rushmore of VNs. Berkili4 cares about storytelling, world building, character depth, as well as his supporters. Please give this a try and if you want the "director's cut" I implore you to check it out through his Patreon.

Honestly, after downloading the full version on Berkili4's page, I was amazed. This is the best Visual Novel in my books, due to the relation between characters, the writing, the story. 10/10. Please make more.

Theres always the option to separately release patches that would unlock the content. Do not bend the knee. Thats pathetic
they arent they released this so that they can get the reach for the main game really due to visa and mastercard and other things forcing itch to remove adult content
as far as I understood his patreon post, from now on his game would be SFW only with SFW updates. That's so restarted thinking ppl traffic would come to AVN without the adult content. Especially when all other devs are intended to fight back and continue doing the content that made them successful in the first place.
I already have played Companion of Darkness, the adult harem game. Why would I want the novel, Companion of the Darkness?
I am being sincere in my request, I'm not looking for spoilers, but is there a compelling reason to want both? (In addition to the reason of supporting the author.)
Do both titles have the same plot with the novel not having the choices that would take me off the preferred path in the harem game? Or are they both completely different plots with the same characters? Does one have more detailed text than the other? Is one a sequel to the other?
Again, not looking for spoilers, general and vague answers are fine...
For the record, I have enjoyed the adult harem game.
According to berkili4's discord post, it's the same story and the same options, but all NSFW stuff are removed. The point of this sort of reupload is to make the game visible and thus to new players to be able to discover the game which may later increase the amount of patreon supporters of the game.
