This was a pretty epic game to be honest. Better than I expected. The storyline, the characters... everything was great. At first, I was looking to kill some time but I got really invested in the story.
Thank you for creating this. I'm not a huge fan of visual novels but this is an exception. I'll be waiting for the next update.

Hey I was wondering, I usually go with the 'name your price' on itch.io (I always thought they take less of a cut) but is Patreon a better option? I assume I would get more bang for my buck but I sometimes I forget that I am subbed to someone... Not that that is a bad thing for the dev lol

I cancelled all of my patreon subs. 24 hours after patreon sub i got notified by both my financial institutions of large transactions of 3k to ebay and amazon for purchases i dud not make as well as fb marketplace blowing up my messenger. If you want to support drvs look for a SECURE way which again patreon is NOT. Also there are a lot of devs on patreon that are not trustworthy imho. Berklii is one of the good ones for sure but after what i had to deal with because of patreon i dont mess with it anymore. Also some devs have been kicked off patreon with reasoning of adult content while others arent and lets be real here isnt that the type of genre most of us downloading 😆
Wow. This storyline and flow is genuinely one of the best I've seen. I've never been so interested to keep going in a long while. I wish the creator well and success in many more to come
TOO crazy? In my opinion Claire has already done some insane stuff. I have some theories, which I HOPE are wrong because if I am right then Claire may be too far gone (space placed for hiding spoilers):
1. Even though she claims she will, Claire makes no effort to help locate Noel for the MC. In my opinion this is because she actually does NOT wish for the MC to reconnect with Noel. The MC's philosophies are in conflict with Claire's and him having a powerful Dark One will inevitably cause conflict for her down the road.
2. Speaking of conflicting philosphies, Claire needed a way to remove Gabriel from the picture. Using Gab's compassion for the MC and Clara, Claire purposeful had her emotional goodbye with Clara infront of Gab. She knew Gabriel has a Martyr complex and would sacrifice himself for the sake of Clara.
3. By paying for Emma's father medical bills and her sibling's college bills, Claire controls the livelihood of Emma's family. Without any income apart from Claire, Emma can't just 'quit' or risk having her family's means of surviving being taken from them.
4. Speaking of Emma's dependency the way she did that is rather sus. After the emotionally tramatic congress incident (where Asrael was unmade and remade, which Nael has already mentioned is tramatic for both Companions and Dark Ones), she didn't even wait 1 minute to secure a verbal agreement to work with the High Order as their Spearhead. Emma was NOT in the proper mental state to make important decisions, and Claire knew that and took advantage of that.
5. The REASON Asrael made such a good Spearhead for Claire is also worrisome. Claire's philosophy of using Violence as a means of protecting the peace makes Asrael perfect for her. The phrase 'if a hammer is the only tool in your toolbox, then everything looks like a nail' comes to mind. Asrael (and as such, Emma) sees every problem as a nail that needs hammering. Combines with Asraels lack of non-offensive capabilities, Emma and Asrael have no means of perceiving Claire's deceptions. As such, the MC's (Ciarara) influence over Emma will be a HUGE problem for Claira moving forward.
6. Though it hasn't happened (yet), by moving Clara into High Order HQ under the guise of 'protecting' her, she now holds 'hostage' someone that is VERY important to the MC.
7. Speaking of Clara being under Claire's 'protection', let's talk about her dependency in her mother. As I mentioned, she is essentially an insurance policy against the MC. To be an affectice 'hostage', though she needs to be weak and dependent. She has been a companion for ~6 to 12 months at the end of chapter 9. Once she found out she was a companion, did not once encourage her to train and get stronger. Rather she focused on sheltering her to keep her an affective hostage.
Damn man went you gotta make sense..... but with him having 3 dark ones it's something she can't really plan for since one makes him a mind reader and two primes but i feel when he learns of his brother everyone is gonna have to pick sides

First time i hear that, and i use microsoft defender myself on some of my devices. You can add the game as an exception, but you dont have to if you feel unsafe about it.
I believe it to be safe, and the warning has an easy menu to add it as an exception, but I wanted to make you aware in case you want to get it published so that it is recognized in the future properly. It will also likely have increased use / membership since it will be more easily recognized as safe. Most of the games I have used on itch.io do not give that warning so I assume they are registering the other games' software somehow with Microsoft's list of known publishers. I pasted the image so you can see what message people will get.
Aw man. I haven't played since Chapter 7 and was debating if I should wait for 10 to release before I hopped back into things cause I knew I'd want more. Things just keep getting more and more interesting! So much is cooking all at once!

Probably already fixed but a couple minor issues I noticed were:
During the scene in the diner with Blake. At one point MC says "Blaire don't you want to thank her as well?" instead of Blake.
While MC is talking to Arsa during the negotiation she says "Clarice" instead of Claire. Unsure if just a typo, or if that's her actual name and Claire is just a nickname, or if Arsa is just being Arsa. Thought it worth mentioning just incase

At this point I just want to say : thank you for creating this, keep up the good work, a good story is way more important than just good graphics quality.
To add my two cents, decent graphics - nice music - immersive animations - exciting lore and outstanding storytelling. In fact, the game's lewd nature becomes a triviality in light of what else it has to offer.
Above all the story is superb with characters that are recognizable, but don’t lose themselves in one-dimensionality and are also influenced and shaped by their environment. Even though the narrative style is rather authorial, one is still surprised by the characters and their development.
Sophisticated animations and a rich soundscape provoke the impression of being absorbed in this surreal madness. The chosen musical accompaniment is very appealing and hits particularly hard in sentimental and dramatic moments.
Anything there is to complain about? Actually, just whining at a high level. Things like the player's degree of freedom – which usually is not a focus of visual novels anyway. Visual subtleties such as a disproportionately high level of metrosexual vibes in men, but this may also be influenced by egine or graphic limitations, the designer's cultural background or maybe they just watch too much Animes ^^
Since I couldn't find any credits, I assume it's a one-person endeavor, which makes the result even more impressive.

That is rather weird. first off all i would double check if you ahve enough space free on your phone. If that is the case, i would download it either via pc and then transfere it over to your phone or download it on oppaiman which is the other offical store page.
I managed to download the game but not here but from another site, but that doesn't matter anymore..I just finished the chapter 9 and I was hoping for chapter 10, Trying this game did not disappoint me. And seeing Moon chi from 'My bully is my lover' really hyped me up since I'm supporting Ni chan, well he's brother Filipino.. Filipino's support each other...I appreciate your work Berkili, I'm waiting for chapter 10, well not only me.. please don't left us hanging.
Game is one of the best when it comes to plot factions and political intrigue. Everyone fights for their own self interest. It reminds me of the fate series. A Top 5 contender.
Damn, I hate this game maaaaaaannnnnnn..... I figured I would just check it out since I was bored. Like 9 hours later still playing this crap because I got sucked in to the story. So thanks for ruining my sleep for the night. Other than that Berk it's a very good story. I love it. Easily top 5 so far.

I want to congratulate the author for the story and characters. I was starting to read the VN and at the beginning i was like "meh"... lets see how bad it turns... and then it started getting better and better. Why the meh, you would say? at the beginning of the novel the graphics are so bad that I almost ran away. Anyway... I like what you have done with the game. I will gladly support you in the near future.
A little bug -detail I found was the options when you will get a NFSW scene, it always says MC x some1. That would be a nice idea to remove (to allow you to get a little more of surprises). I know you are giving a heads up of "you are about to see some porn, save now or something" but I dont know.
Another good idea I can give you is to put penetration and x'ing sounds, moans also. DO NOT add voices (not only is too expensive but f's the game, ok?), and something very exciting I have seen in lots of VNs is the exact moment of the pentration that is very nice to see.
I hope your game continues to grow and you keep making it great.
I have to say, i usually don't enjoy VN that much as i prefer the freedom of sandbox-like games. But companion of darkness got me actually hooked like no other game i downloaded in the past few years from itch.io! For 3 evenings i basically played nothing else even tho i have plenty of games in my backlog. Really enjoyed the story, characters and scenes. Straight 10/10!

Mc says Blaire because that is her real name, Blake is her companion name, which of course mc doesnt while normal civilans are around.
Its just Arsa being Arsa, she doesnt get Clara's name right and only calls mc 5 instead of his name. So yeah the Clarice was on purpose.
